About This Scholarship
Western Sydney University offers research scholarships for higher degree research candidates pursuing PhD and Professional Doctorate programmes commencing in Quarter 3 2026. Scholarships are awarded competitively based on research preparation, outputs, proposal suitability, supervision arrangements and equity considerations.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Stipend of $35,188 AUD per annum for three years
- Tuition fees covered by Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP)
Who Can Apply
- 1 Be a new applicant applying to commence a doctoral program, or have commenced a doctoral program in 2026, or have received an offer to commence a doctoral program in Q3 2026
- 2 Be able to study a full-time PhD program commencing in Q3 2026
- 3 Be able to be onshore in Australia at the scholarship commencement date
- 4 For international applicants: must have completed a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Master of Research (MRes) degree at Western Sydney University in 2025 or 2026
- 5 Provide a letter of recommendation from a suitable academic supervisor addressing suitability for the proposed project
- 6 Meet minimum entrance requirements for the relevant Higher Research Degree
