About This Scholarship

The Winiarski Scholarships 2027, funded by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, offer £3,250 grants to early-career and established legal researchers for an 8-week research visit at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law at the University of Cambridge. Two scholarships are awarded annually—one to scholars from Visegrad and Western Balkans States, and one to scholars from Eastern Partnership States.

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be a national of one of the eligible countries: Visegrad and Western Balkans States (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo) or Eastern Partnership States (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine)
  • 2 Must be a PhD candidate, PhD holder, or established academic researcher
  • 3 Must demonstrate strong academic engagement in international law or closely related disciplines
  • 4 Must be conducting advanced research in international law, peace studies, or related legal fields
