About This Scholarship
The HKU Social Sciences Global South Fellowship Scheme is a prestigious visiting fellowship designed to foster international collaboration, research excellence, and knowledge exchange among scholars from the Global South. Selected fellows will be hosted at HKU’s Faculty of Social Sciences for 1 to 3 months, actively participating in collaborative research, teaching, and academic engagement activities.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Economy class return airfare up to HK$10,000 (reimbursable)
- Daily allowance of HK$1,500 per day (covers accommodation and living expenses)
- Access to HKU facilities
- Opportunities to collaborate with leading academics
- Participation in seminars, lectures, and research activities
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be professoriate staff (e.g., lecturers, assistant professors, or higher)
- 2 Must be affiliated with a university or comparable institution
- 3 Must be based in a Global South country
- 4 Must demonstrate strong academic and research achievements
- 5 Preference given to early-career or junior scholars with potential for long-term collaboration
