About This Scholarship

This PhD opportunity at the University of Western Australia focuses on co-creating communication approaches to support farmers in adopting low-emission agricultural practices, embedded within research funded by the Zero Net Emissions Agriculture Cooperative Research Centre. The project uses participatory research in a ‘Living Laboratory’ environment to investigate how communication, social contexts, trust, and stakeholder involvement influence the adoption of emissions reduction solutions.

What This Scholarship Covers

  • Full PhD tuition covered
  • Top-up scholarship of $10,000 per year (for candidates who have secured a base scholarship)

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must fulfil all admission requirements at UWA PhD Program, including sufficient background and experience in independent supervised research with a thesis component in Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • 2 Must be willing to be based in Perth, WA for the duration of the PhD and travel as required to conduct fieldwork across Western Australia and Victoria
  • 3 Must have experience with participatory research and science communication research methods
  • 4 Must hold a completed Honours or Master's degree in a cognate background such as Agricultural Extension, Science Communication, Rural Sociology, or Adoption
  • 5 Must demonstrate fluency in English and familiarity with Australian farming systems
  • 6 International students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.9
