About This Scholarship
The Diamond Jubilee Research Scholarship offers one fully funded PhD position in the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences at the University of Strathclyde for international postgraduate researchers. The scholarship covers full international tuition fees for up to three years of full-time doctoral study commencing 1 October 2026.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Full tuition fees (international rate) for up to 3 years
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must hold a First-Class undergraduate degree (or equivalent) and/or a relevant Master's degree with Merit/Distinction, or equivalent achievement
- 2 Candidates with Upper Second-Class degree or equivalent and a Master's with outstanding research proposal may apply
- 3 Must demonstrate strong research potential evidenced in research proposal
- 4 Must show clear fit between research interests and research strengths of departments in Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
- 5 Research proposal must reflect one or more of Faculty's key priority areas for 2026/27 (poverty reduction, adolescent health, ageing, AI ethics, crime reduction, globalisation, or governance)
- 6 Must meet English language requirements (IELTS 6.5-7.0 or equivalent, if applicable)
- 7 Must be an international student
- 8 Must be available to start studies on 1 October 2026
