About This Scholarship
The MOFCOM Scholarship provides fully funded master’s and PhD programs at leading Chinese universities for government officials, senior management personnel, and academic professionals from developing countries. The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, living stipend, medical insurance, and international airfare, with programs conducted entirely in English.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Exemption from tuition fees
- Exemption from teaching materials fees
- Exemption from research and investigation fees
- English teaching subsidies
- Graduation thesis guidance fees covered
- Free on-campus accommodation
- Living subsidy: 36,000 RMB/year for master's students; 42,000 RMB/year for doctoral students
- Settlement allowance: 3,000 RMB per person
- Comprehensive medical insurance in China
- Free round-trip international air ticket (1 time for one-year students; 1 time plus home visit tickets for students studying 2+ years)
Who Can Apply
- 1 Non-Chinese citizen under age 45 (born after September 1, 1976)
- 2 From a developing country
- 3 Hold a bachelor's degree or above
- 4 Have three or more years of work experience
- 5 Be serving as public officials at department level or above in home country government, or senior management personnel of institutions/enterprises, or academic backbone of universities and research institutions
- 6 Proficient in English (IELTS 6.0 or above overall band score, or new TOEFL 80 or above)
- 7 In good physical and mental health with medical certificate from public hospital
- 8 No diseases prohibited by China's Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Laws
- 9 Not pregnant or planning pregnancy during study period
- 10 Have not previously studied in China or been admitted to other Chinese government scholarship programs
- 11 Demonstrate potential for career development and intent to promote cooperation between home country and China
