About This Scholarship

This 12-month fellowship is designed to advance the leadership skills of talented African women in early-mid career stages who are passionate about gender equity in global health systems. The program combines online curriculum with an in-person one-week leadership academy in Kenya, covering global health policy, leadership, knowledge translation, and mentorship skills.

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Identify as a woman
  • 2 Be early-mid career professional with 5-15 years of experience in public health doing local, regional or global health work
  • 3 Possess post-graduate education in Public Health, Health Policy, Health Sciences and/or related fields (Post grad diploma or certificate, master's or PhD)
  • 4 Work in a role focused on public health policy, practice, teaching and/or research
  • 5 Able to demonstrate leadership qualities through work, education or community service
  • 6 Reside and work in Kenya or South Africa
  • 7 Be an African national
  • 8 Be fluent in English
  • 9 Able to take leave of absence to attend a one-week in-person leadership academy in March 2027 in Kenya
  • 10 Able to obtain a valid passport for travel to Kenya

How to Apply

Complete and submit Expression of Interest (EOI) form through the online portal (15-20 minutes to complete)

EOI form closes at 12:00 am SAST and EAT on May 22, 2026

EOI results will be communicated no later than June 9, 2026

Candidates whose EOI meet or exceed eligibility criteria will be invited to submit full application

Submit full application by end of June or early July 2026

Final 18 fellows for the 2026/27 cohort will be selected from the full application pool
