About This Scholarship

A six-month full-time internship at UN Women’s Regional Office for West and Central Africa in Dakar, Senegal, focused on women’s economic empowerment, gender equality, and development policy. Interns will work on research, policy development, communications, and advocacy activities supporting women’s economic participation across West and Central Africa.

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Be enrolled in a graduate school program, postgraduate traineeship program, or pursuing a master's degree or higher, OR have graduated within the last two years
  • 2 Hold a degree or demonstrated knowledge in Feminist/Gender Economics, Gender and Development, Development Economics, Macroeconomics, or related Development Studies
  • 3 Have excellent written and spoken English
  • 4 Have excellent written and spoken French
  • 5 Demonstrate strong analytical and research abilities
  • 6 Have excellent drafting and writing skills
  • 7 Be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Zoom
  • 8 Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, respect for diversity, accountability, effective communication skills, inclusive collaboration abilities, and creative problem-solving skills
