About This Scholarship
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program (MCFSP) is a fully funded scholarship for academically brilliant yet economically disadvantaged young Africans pursuing postgraduate studies at the University of Pretoria. The program targets individuals who demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to contributing to continental transformation, with community service and internships as essential program components.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Full tuition fees
- Accommodation and meals in UP residence or UP-accredited accommodation
- Monthly stipend
- Medical aid coverage for duration of study
- Textbooks and printed material
- VISA costs
- Reasonable travel costs including flight tickets to and from home country
- Leadership development opportunities
- Academic advising and counselling support
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be a citizen of an African country
- 2 Must have received provisional admission to a postgraduate degree programme at University of Pretoria
- 3 Must not already hold a master's degree or equivalent qualification
- 4 Must be proficient in English
- 5 Must demonstrate academic excellence and economic disadvantage
- 6 Must demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to community service
