About This Scholarship

Up to six scholarships worth £5,500 each are offered by the University of Essex in partnership with BT for full-time 1-year Postgraduate Taught Masters students in the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering for the 2026-27 academic year. The scholarship can be used as a tuition fee discount or as a stipend towards living expenses, with successful applicants working on specific cybersecurity and network projects in collaboration with BT.

What This Scholarship Covers

  • £5,500 per award
  • Tuition fee discount OR stipend towards living expenses (paid in instalments throughout the academic year)
  • Opportunity to work with the Institute for Analytics and Data Science

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be applying for a full-time 1-year Masters course within the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering
  • 2 Postgraduate conversion courses are not eligible
  • 3 Must be enrolled as a postgraduate taught student in academic year 2026-27
  • 4 All nationalities are eligible to apply

Submit the application form to csee-schooloffice@essex.ac.uk before 31st May 2026 at 11:59pm BST

Apply separately for your chosen course through standard University of Essex Admissions process

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend an online interview by end of June 2026 (jointly with University of Essex and BT staff)

Successful applicants will be notified by end of June 2026 and must sign a Collaboration agreement with BT
