About This Scholarship
TOKAS Research Residency Program 2027 is an international opportunity for artists, researchers, and cultural practitioners to conduct in-depth research on arts and culture in Tokyo. The program offers a 6-12 week residency with accommodation and workspace for 5 selected creators from various creative disciplines.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Living space (single room or twin-bedded room for duo applicants)
- Studio/workspace access
- Opportunity to participate in OPEN STUDIO and TOKAS-organized events
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must have considerable experience in specialized area of expertise and be expected to make good achievements in the near future
- 2 Must have sufficient ability to communicate in English with other residing creators and TOKAS staff
- 3 Must be independent and capable of working and living on own
- 4 Must not be a student at the time of participation (except PhD candidates)
- 5 Willing to conduct research activities with own themes in Tokyo
- 6 Practicing in one of the following fields: visual arts, design, architecture, music, performing arts, curation, art criticism, cultural research, or writing
- 7 Eager to exchange with other residing creators
