About This Scholarship

The OBEL Teaching Fellowships support innovative teaching initiatives within architecture and the built environment, providing up to €75,000 in funding for fellows to develop and deliver new academic courses. The 2026 cycle focuses on ‘Systems’ Hack’, exploring how architecture can critically engage with and reconfigure the systems that structure contemporary society.

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Professionals with at least five years of experience in architecture or related fields

  • 4 Proposed courses should ideally begin in 2027 or shortly thereafter
  • 5 Applicants should be prepared to lead/teach at least one intensive course or preferably two courses within the fellowship period

How to Apply

Submit joint application (fellow and host institution partnership)

Host institution signs Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreeing to accept fellow as visiting scholar/guest teacher

Host institution agrees to administer fellowship funds according to approved budget
