About This Scholarship

The RTP Stipend Scholarship provides financial support to international postgraduate research students pursuing higher degree by research programmes at the University of Sydney. The scholarship covers a stipend of $42,754 per annum (2026 rate), full tuition fees, relocation allowance, and thesis allowance.

What This Scholarship Covers

  • Stipend of $42,754 per annum (2026 rate), indexed annually
  • Full tuition fees (100% coverage) for up to 14 research periods
  • Relocation allowance for eligible expenses
  • Thesis allowance
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be an international student at the time of award
  • 2 Must apply for admission and submit all required documentation for a Higher Degree by Research at the University of Sydney
  • 3 Must be commencing or enrolled in a full-time postgraduate research degree (part-time may be approved in special circumstances)
  • 4 Must submit the scholarship application form by the specified deadline
  • 5 For Research Doctorate studies, scholarship may be held for up to 14 research periods; for Research Masters studies, up to 7 research periods
