About This Scholarship
The Wellington Doctoral Scholarship encourages and supports doctoral study (PhD) at Victoria University of Wellington through a competitive merit-based award process. The scholarship is available to New Zealand and international graduates of any university who intend to enrol full-time for doctoral studies.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Annual stipend of $32,000
- Domestic tuition fees covered
- Tenable for three years (or reduced tenure at discretion if already enrolled for more than six months)
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be a graduate of any university within or outside New Zealand
- 2 Must intend to enrol full-time for a Doctorate (PhD) or have commenced doctoral study at Victoria University of Wellington
- 3 Must have a strong academic record and excellent academic references, or demonstrated potential for high-quality research, or a record of publication in high-quality journals commensurate with experience and education
- 4 Open to both domestic (New Zealand) and international students
