About This Scholarship
The Rhodes Scholarship is a prestigious fully funded postgraduate award for exceptional students from Southern Africa to pursue their studies at the University of Oxford, beginning in 2027. The scholarship emphasises academic excellence, leadership potential, and commitment to public service, covering all tuition fees, living stipends, and additional study-abroad expenses.
What This Scholarship Covers

- Annual living stipend
- Oxford application fee
- Visa expenses
- UK International Health Surcharge (access to National Health Service)
- Two economy-class flights (home country to UK at start and end of studies)
- Structured assistance with university applications and course selection
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be a citizen or permanent resident of South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, or eSwatini
- 2 Must demonstrate academic excellence
- 3 Must demonstrate leadership qualities outside the classroom
- 4 Must show excellence in fields such as sport, music, art, or debate
- 5 Must demonstrate strong ethical values and personal integrity
- 6 Must show dedication to service and commitment to improving society
