About This Scholarship
The University of Canberra’s Centre for Deliberative Democracy offers a fully funded PhD scholarship for doctoral candidates to critically explore the future of democratic governance, citizen participation, and democratic innovations. The programme, commencing February 2027, covers comprehensive living and academic support for 3.5 years and welcomes both domestic and international applicants.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Must have completed a Bachelor degree with First Class Honours or equivalent level of attainment
- 2 Must be seeking to enrol as a full-time candidate in a Doctor of Philosophy course
- 3 Must demonstrate strong academic potential and commitment to democratic research
- 4 Open to both domestic (Australian citizens, permanent residents, New Zealand citizens) and international candidates
- 5 Must meet University of Canberra admission requirements
