About This Scholarship

The KAIST Undergraduate Scholarship provides fully funded undergraduate study at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, covering tuition, monthly living expenses, and medical insurance for 8 semesters. This scholarship is available to international students from all countries who meet the eligibility requirements and wish to pursue undergraduate degrees across multiple disciplines at KAIST.

What This Scholarship Covers

  • Full tuition fee for 8 semesters
  • Monthly living allowance (350,000 KRW per month)
  • Medical health insurance

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be a citizen/permanent resident of a country other than South Korea (dual citizenship with Korean citizenship is not eligible)
  • 2 Must be fluent in English
  • 3 Must maintain a GPA of at least 2.7 out of 4.3 after freshman year at KAIST
  • 4 Must be admitted to KAIST before scholarship is awarded

How to Apply

Visit the official KAIST admissions website and complete the online application form

Pay the application fee (USD 80 or 80,000 KRW) by credit card or bank transfer

Upload scanned certified copies of required documents: one recommendation letter, secondary/tertiary school profile, high school/university transcript, standardized test report, English proficiency test report, passport or national ID, statement of financial resources for KAIST scholarship, statement of financial resources for sponsorship, and optional honors and awards

Provide recommender's email address correctly so they receive the link to submit recommendation letter electronically by the deadline

Submit the completed application

Check admission and scholarship results on the designated portal

Attend online interview if required (applicants will be contacted individually)
