About This Scholarship
The GROW Fellowship is a two-year professional development programme designed to strengthen the leadership pipeline of African women scientists working in plant and livestock breeding research. The immersive non-residential fellowship seeks to accelerate leadership, visibility, and career advancement of women breeders by strengthening their capacity to lead gender-responsive breeding research and influence scientific and policy agendas.

- Peer learning sessions in a growing network of women professionals in crop improvement and agricultural research
Who Can Apply
- 1 Be a female citizen of Africa and residing in Africa (applicants from Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, or Uganda are specifically encouraged)
- 2 Hold at least a Master's degree in plant breeding, livestock breeding, genetics, phenomics, biotechnology, seed systems, or a related discipline
- 3 Be affiliated with a university, national agricultural research institution, or another organization involved in crop improvement research and development
- 4 Demonstrate professional experience in plant breeding, crop improvement, or livestock improvement
- 5 Have at least 5 years of experience in crop or livestock improvement research
- 6 Be committed to full participation in all Fellowship activities delivered over a two-year period
- 7 Not be a Fellow in other AWARD Fellowships
- 8 Demonstrate active engagement in breeding, crop improvement, livestock improvement, or related agricultural research and development
- 9 Demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to professional growth
