About This Scholarship

The AFS Global STEM Changemakers 2026 is a 12-week fully funded virtual exchange program designed to empower young people aged 15-20 with STEM knowledge, intercultural competencies, and skills to address sustainability challenges. Participants engage in interactive learning, collaborative projects, and develop a social impact capstone project while connecting with global peers and mentors.

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be between 15 and 20 years old at the start of the program
  • 2 Must have a birthdate between 1 December 2005 and 1 September 2011
  • 3 Must demonstrate interest in STEM fields
  • 4 Must show enthusiasm for sustainability and social impact
  • 5 Must be willing to engage in intercultural learning experiences
  • 6 Must commit to active participation throughout the virtual exchange program
  • 7 Priority consideration for indigenous and native community students, refugees, displaced students, and students from underrepresented communities
