About This Scholarship

The University of Huddersfield Merit-Based Scholarships provide financial support of up to £4,000 per year to international students demonstrating academic excellence across undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses. Scholarships are awarded automatically upon admission based on academic merit and are available for every year of study, excluding placement years.

What This Scholarship Covers

  • Up to £4,000 per year tuition reduction for students with First Class Honours equivalent or AAB A-Level equivalent
  • Up to £2,000 per year tuition reduction for students meeting general entry requirements
  • Additional £1,000 early payment discount if deposit paid by deadline

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be an international fee-paying student (not UK or EU fee status)
  • 2 Must apply for a full-time taught undergraduate or postgraduate course
  • 3 Must be self-funding (not receiving external funding)
  • 4 For postgraduate: must hold at least a 2.2 or equivalent undergraduate degree and meet English/academic entry requirements
  • 5 Not eligible if applying to MA TESOL with Placement, Master's with placement in Huddersfield Business School, or Master's by Research programs
  • 6 Must not have refugee, asylum-seeker status, or indefinite leave to remain in the UK
