About This Scholarship
The LIT Uganda Female STEM Student Teachers’ Scholarship offers 1,000 fully funded scholarships for eligible young women to pursue a Bachelor of Science with Education (BScEd) degree at selected universities across Uganda. The scholarship aims to increase female participation in STEM teaching, empower future women leaders in education, and address the shortage of qualified female science teachers in Uganda’s secondary schools.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be female and a Ugandan citizen residing in Uganda, or a female refugee living in Uganda, or a female youth with disabilities living in Uganda
- 2 Must hold an admission offer for a Bachelor of Science with Education (BScEd) from one of the eligible institutions listed (Makerere University, Kyambogo University, Busitema University, Islamic University in Uganda, Gulu University, Muni University, Mountains of the Moon University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda Martyrs University, Kabale University, or UNITE Campuses)
- 3 Must demonstrate a strong commitment to pursuing a teaching career, particularly in secondary schools, and be willing to serve in rural or underserved communities for at least two years after graduation
- 4 Must demonstrate genuine financial need and require support to pursue university education
- 5 Must be aged 18-35 years
