About This Scholarship
The Kennan Institute Digital Fellowship 2026–2027 provides $12,000 in funding over six months for researchers, academics, journalists, and policy experts to advance original scholarship on Russia and the broader Eurasian region through a fully virtual program. Fellows receive professional mentorship, monthly stipends, virtual meetings, specialized webinars, and publication support to contribute meaningful work that reaches policymakers and scholars worldwide.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Monthly research stipend of $2,000 (6 months totaling approximately $12,000)
- Professional mentorship from internationally recognized experts
- Monthly virtual cohort meetings
- Access to six specialized virtual webinars
- Publication support and editorial assistance
- Membership in global alumni network of over 4,500 professionals
Who Can Apply
- 1 Work must focus on Russia, Eurasia, or related regional topics
- 2 Must demonstrate meaningful experience within chosen research area
- 3 Should be an experienced professional such as university researcher, faculty member, independent scholar, journalist, policy analyst, think tank researcher, subject matter expert, scientific researcher, technology specialist, or medical researcher
- 4 At least four fellowships are reserved for applicants conducting research in natural sciences, medicine, technology, or related scientific disciplines
