About This Scholarship
The OHCHR Indigenous Fellowship Programme 2027 is a fully funded, four-week intensive training programme for indigenous leaders held in Geneva, Switzerland, designed to strengthen knowledge of the UN human rights system and practical skills to advance indigenous rights. The programme brings together fellows from different regions and language backgrounds (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese) to engage directly with UN human rights mechanisms, with training typically coinciding with the annual session of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

- Basic health insurance for the duration of the training
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be indigenous
- 2 Must be nominated/proposed by an indigenous organization or community
- 3 Must have good working knowledge of the language in which the programme is imparted (English, French, Spanish, or Portuguese)
- 4 Must agree to train other indigenous persons after returning to their community/organization
- 5 The nominating organization should have a firm constituency or membership and be representative
- 6 No formal educational qualifications required
- 7 Women, LGBTQI+ individuals, and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply
- 8 Age is not a limitation
