About This Scholarship
A fully funded PhD scholarship at ANU for outstanding domestic and international students to conduct research on violence against women and displacement, contributing to the Centre of Excellence on the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW). The successful candidate will be enrolled full-time in the Department of International Relations and become part of a cohort of PhD scholars within the ARC’s CEVAW network comprising 13 Chief Investigators from six Australian universities.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Stipend scholarship equivalent to or higher than the ANU standard Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP) stipend (indexed annually, tax-free in Australia)
- Dependent Child Allowance for international recipients (up to $3,000 per annum per child, maximum $9,000 per annum)
- Relocation reimbursement (up to $1,000 for domestic students or $2,500 for international students, one-off payment)
- Access to tailored research ethics and training program focused on Indigenous-centred and feminist research principles
- Integration into CEVAW network of research and industry leaders
- Access to cohort of other PhD students and research fellows
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be an outstanding domestic or international student
- 2 Must be enrolled full-time in a PhD program in the Department of International Relations, Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs, College of Asia and the Pacific at ANU
- 3 Research project must align with the broader purpose of CEVAW and the research stream on violence in the context of Migration, Displacement and Trafficking
- 4 Applicants with lived experience of displacement, Pasifika, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and/or other First Nations Peoples and/or those from the region are prioritised
- 5 For international students: must be liable for international student fees and require a visa to study in Australia
- 6 For domestic students: must be an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, holder of an Australian Permanent Resident visa, or holder of an Australian humanitarian visa
