About This Scholarship
The WHO AFRO/TDR Impact Grants programme provides up to US$15,000 for implementation research projects lasting a maximum of 12 months to strengthen health systems and address infectious diseases of poverty across the African Region. The grants support researchers and institutions in generating practical evidence and context-specific solutions that improve health service delivery and health system resilience.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Grant funding up to US$15,000
- Support for research project duration up to 12 months
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be conducting research in the African Region
- 2 Principal Investigator and most research team members must be based at an institution in an African Region country or territory
- 3 Institution must be one of: Ministry of Health, National tropical or communicable disease control programme, University or academic institution, Research institute, or Nongovernmental organisation
- 4 Must demonstrate experience in operational and/or implementation research (formal research training, TDR Implementation Research Toolkit completion, or recognised research training programme)
- 5 Proposed research must directly correspond to the call's objectives and priorities
- 6 If implementation involves a health centre, must provide authorisation letter from relevant public health manager or director
- 7 Must obtain necessary ethical approvals from relevant research ethics committees
