About This Scholarship
This PhD research fellowship supports doctoral students conducting advanced research on microscale defects in fiber-reinforced polymers within the HOOPLA project, funded by the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation. Selected researchers receive a monthly stipend of €1,309 and access to professional research facilities, experienced mentors, and opportunities to contribute to scientific publications.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Hold a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- 2 Experience with finite element method (FEM) for structural analysis
- 3 Proficient knowledge of programming languages such as Python or similar
- 4 Knowledge of composite materials mechanics
- 5 Experience in characterization and modelling of composite materials
- 6 Experience in writing technical and scientific reports or project documentation
- 7 Fluent in Portuguese and English (written and spoken)
- 8 Initiative, responsibility, organization, autonomy, resilience, and strong interpersonal skills
- 9 Critical analysis ability and goal-oriented approach
- 10 Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly
