About This Scholarship
A three-month research fellowship for early-career researchers from South Asia to conduct research at the South Asia Institute in Heidelberg, Germany, between April and June 2027. The programme supports young scholars in advancing their academic careers, developing research collaborations, and transforming their research projects into potential third-party funding applications.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Monthly scholarship of EUR 1,200
- International travel reimbursement of up to EUR 1,500
- Rental cost support for accommodation in Heidelberg
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be a young researcher from one of the five eligible South Asian countries: India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, or Bangladesh
- 2 Must hold a doctoral degree (copy of doctoral certificate required)
- 3 Must propose a clearly defined research project relevant to South Asian studies
- 4 Research project must be capable of development into a potential third-party funding application
