About This Scholarship
The ifa Artists’ Contacts 2026 programme provides funding for international artistic and cultural exchange projects connecting Germany with countries of the Global South and countries in transition. The programme supports a wide range of activities including working visits, research trips, exhibitions, artist-in-residence programmes, workshops, performances and collaborative projects that emphasize meaningful cooperation and long-term professional networks.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Project funding for international artistic and cultural exchange activities
Who Can Apply
- 1 Applicant must be based in a country on the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list or in Germany
- 2 Projects must involve international cooperation between Germany and an eligible DAC country
- 3 Applicant must be working in visual arts or cultural sector (including artists, curators, art mediators, art educators, art theorists, architects, designers, photographers, media artists, or cultural institutions)
- 4 Project must demonstrate strong artistic quality and collaborative focus
- 5 Project must contribute to international artistic cooperation, knowledge exchange, sustainable networks, diversity, democratic values, human dignity, social cohesion or environmental sustainability
- 6 Eligibility is based on country classification on DAC list, not race or ethnicity
