About This Scholarship
The Jack and Doris Shadbolt Fellowship supports established and emerging professionals in the humanities and arts at Simon Fraser University’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences for a full academic year appointment. Fellows engage in research, teaching, artistic creation, performance, writing, and community engagement that addresses important social, cultural and contemporary concerns.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Stipend of C$25,000 per term (up to C$75,000 for full academic year)
- Hosting by an academic unit, department, school, program or research centre within FASS
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be an established or emerging professional working in humanities and arts fields
- 2 Work must fall within broadly defined fields of humanities and arts (research, creative practice, writing, knowledge sharing, public humanities)
- 3 Applicants must demonstrate alignment with values including reconciliation, equity, diversity and inclusion, communication, coordination and collaboration
- 4 Work should have potential relevance to communities, institutions or broader public conversations
- 5 Open to academic scholars, artists, creative practitioners, writers, knowledge keepers, and researchers
