About This Scholarship
The Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship is a prestigious award for international postgraduate students residing outside Japan who intend to pursue Master’s or Doctoral degrees at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in Beppu, Japan. The scholarship provides continuous monthly financial stipends, travel cost reimbursements, and integration into an international network of Rotary members.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Monthly stipend of 140,000 JPY per month for up to two years
- Economy airfare reimbursement up to 250,000 JPY
- Travel-related expenses reimbursement up to 250,000 JPY
- Cultural exchange and networking opportunities
- Access to Rotary Club events and academic mentorship
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must not hold Japanese nationality (dual nationality holders are ineligible)
- 2 Must obtain a student visa to enter Japan for educational purposes
- 3 Must reside outside Japan until the start of the program
- 4 Must not have resided in Japan for longer than 31 days in total (exceptions apply if stay was during childhood for family reasons or under Rotary Youth Exchange high school program)
- 5 Must possess Japanese language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N4 or higher
- 6 Must be born after April 2, 1982
