About This Scholarship
The PIIRS Fung Global Fellows Program selects early-career scholars from around the world to be in residence at Princeton University for an academic year (10 months) to engage in research and discussion around the theme ‘Democracy in Crisis?’. Fellows are appointed at the rank of Visiting Research Scholar and must be employed outside the United States with a faculty or professional research appointment, and are expected to return to their positions upon conclusion of the fellowship.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Must have received a Ph.D. (or equivalent) generally after September 1, 2017
- 2 Must not be currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program
- 3 Must not be employed as a postdoc
- 4 Must be employed outside the United States with a faculty appointment or professional research appointment
- 5 Must have demonstrated outstanding scholarly achievement and unusual intellectual promise
- 6 Must be willing to return to their home institution upon conclusion of the fellowship
