About This Scholarship
The Helmut Veith Stipend is awarded annually to exceptionally talented and motivated female students pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science at TU Wien taught in English, with solid mathematical and technical knowledge in at least one of Helmut Veith’s research areas. The scholarship aims to empower women in technology and honour the legacy of Austrian computer scientist Helmut Veith (1971-2016), who was a strong advocate for women in computer science.
What This Scholarship Covers
- EUR 7,000 annual stipend
- Waiver of study tuition fees at TU Wien
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be female
- 2 Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Mathematics (Bologna first cycle) or equivalent degree
- 3 Demonstrate extensive mathematical and technical knowledge and interest in at least one of Helmut Veith's research areas: Logic in Computer Science, Formal Methods and Verification, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms and Complexity Theory, or Computer Security
- 4 Demonstrate proficiency in English
- 5 Be eligible for admission to one of the Master's programs in Computer Science at TU Wien taught in English (winter semester 2026/2027, summer semester 2027, or winter semester 2027/2028)
- 6 Commit to obtaining at least 25 ECTS credits per term on average and achieving a grade average of at most 1.5
- 7 Reside in Austria during term time for the duration of studies (exceptions and temporary interruptions subject to approval)
