About This Scholarship
The Stellenbosch University LLM Bursary 2027 supports full-time postgraduate Master of Laws students pursuing research in urban law, climate change law, environmental law and sustainability governance under the supervision of Professor Anél du Plessis. Successful candidates will develop advanced legal research skills while contributing to research addressing legal and governance challenges associated with urbanisation, climate change and sustainability.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Must hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent
- 2 Must achieve an average of 68% or above for third- and fourth-year LLB modules
- 3 Must satisfy all Stellenbosch University requirements for postgraduate study
- 4 Must demonstrate clear interest in urban law, climate change law, environmental law or sustainability governance
- 5 Must be prepared to relocate to and reside in Stellenbosch for the duration of studies
- 6 Must commit to full-time study
- 7 Proposed research interests should relate to South Africa or comparable legal jurisdictions
