About This Scholarship
PERI-ACE supports at least 40 emerging African scholars through funded master’s and doctoral studies, traineeships, and staff mobility opportunities designed to strengthen employability and academic development. The programme emphasizes climate-related research priorities, regional collaboration, inclusion, and gender equity.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Travel expenses
- Visa application fees
- Accommodation
- Subsistence and living allowances (paid monthly in local currency at equivalent value in Euros)
- Tuition fees
- Research and laboratory costs
- Conference, seminar and boot camp participation
- Special needs support for students with disabilities (tailored study materials, academic support solutions, disability wellness resources, emotional support)
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be an emerging scholar from an African country
- 2 Preference for candidates from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds
- 3 Preference for candidates from fragile states and least-developed regions
- 4 Candidates with refugee status encouraged to apply
- 5 Candidates with disabilities encouraged to apply
- 6 Women, particularly in climate-related STEM fields, actively encouraged to apply
- 7 Academic programme must be aligned with regional climate priorities (for doctoral scholarships)
