About This Scholarship
The Amelia Earhart Fellowship supports women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace engineering and space sciences with up to 30 fellows receiving US$12,000 annually. Established in 1938 by Zonta International, the fellowship honors the pioneering spirit of aviator Amelia Earhart and aims to increase women’s representation in these cutting-edge fields.

- US$12,000 fellowship award
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be a woman of any nationality
- 2 Must be pursuing a Ph.D./doctoral degree with a superior academic record
- 3 Must be registered in a full-time Ph.D./doctoral program
- 4 Must have completed at least one year of the Ph.D./doctoral program or have received a master's degree in an aerospace-applied field at time of application submission
- 5 Research must be applied to aerospace engineering or space sciences
- 6 Must not graduate from Ph.D. or doctoral program before April 2028
- 7 Post-doctoral research programs are not eligible
- 8 Not eligible if a current club member or individual member with direct membership of Zonta International
- 9 Not eligible if an employee of Zonta International or Zonta Foundation for Women
- 10 Previous Amelia Earhart Fellows are not eligible to apply for a second year
