About This Scholarship
The White Rose Doctoral Training Partnership offers fully funded ESRC studentships for PhD researchers beginning their studies in October 2027 at seven partner universities in the UK. Funding supports doctoral research across multiple social science disciplines through pathway awards, advanced quantitative methods, and advanced data analytics programmes.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be applying to a PhD programme at one of the seven partner universities (University of Bradford, University of Hull, University of Leeds, Manchester Metropolitan University, University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University, University of York)
- 2 PhD research must be in eligible social science disciplines
- 3 Must be nominated by the host university department
- 4 Applicants developing their own research proposals for Pathway Awards
- 5 For Advanced Quantitative Methods Awards: proposed research must involve advanced quantitative methodologies
- 6 For Advanced Data Analytics Awards: proposed research must involve advanced data analytics approaches
