About This Scholarship
The Yale Young African Scholars Program is an intensive academic and enrichment initiative designed for African secondary school students planning to pursue tertiary education. Participants enhance their academic skills, receive university admission guidance, and join a continental network of young leaders.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Tuition-free participation in either the online workshop or residential summit
- Free housing and meals for the residential summit
- All academic curriculum materials provided
- PDF Certificate of Completion
- Need-based travel grants available for eligible students attending the residential summit
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be between the ages of 14-18 years old on the first day of the program (July 15) in 2027
- 2 Must be able to participate in a rigorous academic curriculum conducted in English
- 3 Must be a citizen or permanent resident of an African country, or a refugee living in an African country
- 4 Must currently attend school in an African country
- 5 Must be a current 10th or 11th grade student (or international equivalent)
- 6 Must be graduating secondary school between May/June 2028 and May/June 2029 (Northern Hemisphere) or by November/December 2028 / November/December 2029 (Southern Hemisphere)
