About This Scholarship
The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology GIST Scholarship is a fully funded program for international students pursuing Master’s, Ph.D., and Integrated MS/Ph.D. degrees in South Korea. It covers complete tuition, monthly stipends, research assistantships, and health insurance to support a comprehensive academic journey.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Fully supported tuition fee (3,415,000 won)
- Student allowance of 140,000 won per month for Master's students or 295,000 won per month for Ph.D. students
- Food voucher of nearly 100,000 won per month
- International Student Scholarship of 120,000 won per month for students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Research assistantship ranging from 4,820,000 won per year for M.S. to 11,480,000 won per year for Ph.D.
- Health insurance covering 60% of the national health insurance rate in Korea
- Annual medical check-up
- One-way flight reimbursement to Korea
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be an international applicant from anywhere in the world.
- 2 Must hold a Bachelor’s degree to apply for the Master's Program.
- 3 Must hold a Master’s degree to apply for the Doctoral Program.
