The Africa Institute offers senior and postdoctoral research fellowships for scholars engaging with Africa and the African diaspora across the humanities and social sciences. Selected fellows undertake full-time research residencies at The Africa Institute in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

Who Can Apply
- 1 For Senior Fellowships: Established scholars including associate professors, full professors, independent authors, and public intellectuals.
- 2 For Postdoctoral Fellowships: Early-career researchers who have been awarded their Ph.D. within the last five years prior to taking up the fellowship.
- 3 Proposed research must engage substantially with Africa and the African diaspora.
