About This Scholarship

The Jean Kennoway Howells Scholarship offers £15,000 in funding for one exceptional international student pursuing a full-time taught Master’s degree at the University of Edinburgh’s Reid School of Music in 2026-2027. The award is based on academic merit and covers one academic year, with funds applied to tuition fees and living costs.

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be a new applicant applying for admission to a full-time postgraduate taught Masters programme within the Reid School of Music commencing in 2026-2027
  • 2 Must have or expect to obtain a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree at undergraduate level or international equivalent
  • 3 Must have fully completed and submitted Masters programme application by 23 March 2026
  • 4 Cannot hold this scholarship alongside any other ECA or University of Edinburgh scholarship funding

How to Apply

Apply for admission to the University of Edinburgh Masters programme through the online system by 23 March 2026

Wait up to five working days for system checks to be completed to gain access to scholarship portal

Complete online scholarship application in EUCLID via MyEd portal using University User Name (UUN) and password

Submit scholarship application by 23:59 UK Time on 6 April 2026

Ensure Personal Statement clearly states why applying for this scholarship, benefit for studies, how previous study/professional experience prepared for Masters, and thoughts on demonstrating citizenship and community engagement
