About This Scholarship

The Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship provides A$39,069 per annum to domestic and international students undertaking Higher Degree Research programs at ANU. The scholarship is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Education and Training and awarded based on academic merit and competitive ranking.

What This Scholarship Covers

  • Stipend of A$39,069 per annum
  • Paid fortnightly
  • 3.5 years of support with possibility of 6 month extension for eligible internships

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be enrolled in or applying for a Higher Degree Research (HDR) program at ANU
  • 2 Must meet Commonwealth Scholarship Guidelines (Research) 2017 eligibility requirements
  • 3 Must demonstrate academic merit through competitive ranking
  • 4 Must have confirmation of a qualified supervisor
  • 5 Must have available space and resources
  • 6 Research must be aligned with ANU research strategy
  • 7 Domestic and international students are eligible

How to Apply

Complete admission application for HDR program and select RTP as scholarship of interest

For current ANU students, complete 'Request for a current ANU student to be considered for an HDR Scholarship' form

Provide statement of support from HDR Supervisor

Submit initial application for HDR admission, transcripts, and referee reports

Update application with current CV and publication details if applicable

Submit completed application to HDR administrator in your ANU College or School Office
