About This Scholarship
The A.S. Hornby Educational Trust Scholarship offers up to 10 fully funded scholarships for experienced English language teachers and related professionals from eligible low- and middle-income countries to study the MEd TESOL programme at the University of Exeter. The scholarship covers full tuition fees, monthly stipend for accommodation and living expenses, and return international travel costs for one year of study beginning in September 2027.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be a resident of and work in a country classified by the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) as Least Developed, Low Income, Lower Middle Income or Upper Middle Income
- 2 Must have at least three years of full-time TESOL teaching or related professional experience after obtaining their first degree
- 3 Must hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to at least a UK upper second-class honours degree, or hold a relevant postgraduate degree
- 4 Must not already hold a doctoral degree in TESOL, applied linguistics, English, or a related field
- 5 Must not already hold a master's degree in TESOL, applied linguistics, English, or a related field from a UK university
- 6 Must demonstrate the potential to contribute to English language teaching and learning in their home country
- 7 Must meet the University of Exeter's admission requirements for the MEd TESOL programme
