About This Scholarship
The ABCD Future Environmental Leaders Scholarships 2027 support doctoral students from developing countries to undertake a 9-month research stay at leading German institutions including RWTH Aachen University, Technische Universität Dresden, or UNU Resource Nexus in Dresden. The programme aims to support PhD candidates whose research contributes to addressing major challenges related to water security, climate adaptation, ecosystem resilience and sustainable development.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Research stay accommodation and support
- Access to leading research facilities at host institutions
- Opportunity to conduct research at RWTH Aachen University, Technische Universität Dresden, or UNU Resource Nexus
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be a doctoral student from a developing country
- 2 Must have started PhD within the last three years
- 3 Must be registered as a full-time doctoral student at a university in a developing country
- 4 Research topic must be aligned with ABCD-Centre's research priorities (water security, climate adaptation, ecosystem resilience, sustainable development)
- 5 Must demonstrate strong academic merit and motivation
- 6 Must have the ability to communicate effectively in English
- 7 Must demonstrate adaptability and readiness to conduct research in Germany
- 8 Preference given to candidates interested in translating research findings into policy papers
