About This Scholarship
ARES offers fully funded international training scholarships enabling participants from 32 eligible African countries and Palestine to undertake bachelor’s degrees, specialized master’s degrees, or continuing professional development courses at institutions in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. The programme aims to increase qualifications, empower professionals, strengthen networks, and enable scholars to become agents of change in their home institutions and society.
What This Scholarship Covers
- International travel expenses
- Subsistence allowance
- Visa application fees (bachelor's and specialized master's degrees only)
- Registration fees (bachelor's and specialized master's degrees only)
- Indirect mission costs (continuing education only)
- Insurance costs
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be a permanent resident and work in one of the 32 eligible countries (or Palestinian nationals, who are eligible regardless of residence)
- 2 Must hold a higher education degree and meet the admission requirements for the chosen program
- 3 Must have held the relevant academic degree for no more than 20 years prior to programme start (extended by one year for each birth/adoption)
- 4 Must demonstrate relevant professional occupation in an eligible country for at least two years after last higher education diploma and before application closing date
- 5 Must complete the application in the language in which training is provided and demonstrate good written and spoken command of that language
- 6 Must have basic knowledge of French to facilitate integration in Belgium
- 7 May apply to only one course
