About This Scholarship
The APU ADB Scholarship is a fully funded Master’s degree programme offered by Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University for professionals from ADB borrowing member countries, providing complete financial support for study in development-oriented fields. The scholarship supports two years of graduate studies with comprehensive benefits including tuition coverage, monthly living allowance, airfare, research allowance, and medical insurance.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Full admission fee
- Full tuition coverage
- Monthly subsistence allowance of 144,000 JPY (including housing)
- Books and instructional materials
- Medical insurance
- Round-trip economy class airfare between home country and Japan
Who Can Apply
- 1 Be a national of an ADB borrowing member country and a Japanese Official Development Assistance scholarship eligible country
- 2 Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country
- 3 Not be currently living or working outside of your home country
- 4 Have at least two years of full-time work experience after obtaining a bachelor's degree at the time of application
- 5 Have proficiency in oral and written English communication skills
- 6 Be 35 years old or less at the time of application
- 7 Have gained admission to an approved master's course at APU
- 8 Not already be enrolled in a graduate degree program
- 9 In principle, not have a bachelor's or master's degree obtained outside of your home country
- 10 Not be pursuing a second master's degree
- 11 Hold a bachelor's degree or its equivalent with superior academic record
- 12 Not be an executive director, alternate director, management or staff of ADB, staff of ADB-JSP designated institutions, nor a consultant or relative of aforementioned
- 13 Agree to return and work in your home country for at least two years after completion of studies
- 14 Family income should not exceed US$50,000 per year, and individual income should not exceed US$25,000 per year
