About This Scholarship

The F’SATI and ASIC Postdoctoral Fellowship is a 12-month programme supporting early-career researchers to conduct innovative research in software engineering for space systems and services, including nanosatellite platforms, ground station technologies, and space-weather services. The successful fellow will join the research environment at CPUT Bellville Campus, working alongside researchers in space innovation, engineering, and technology development.

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must hold a recent doctoral degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2 Must demonstrate relevant expertise in software development, research methodologies, engineering systems, data systems, or space-related technologies
  • 3 Must have completed a PhD obtained recently
  • 4 Must have research experience in software engineering or related disciplines
  • 5 Must have strong programming and software development skills
  • 6 Must be able to conduct independent research
  • 7 Must have experience working with technical research projects
  • 8 Must be able to analyse and communicate research findings
  • 9 Experience in space systems, satellite technologies, or aerospace-related software development is an advantage
