About This Scholarship
The Chevening-Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Fellowship is a five-month research fellowship for mid-career professionals and academics aimed at promoting informed understanding of Islamic culture, civilisation, and contemporary Muslim societies. Fellows undertake self-directed research projects while fostering inter-civilisational dialogue and academic exchange.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Five-month period of research at OCIS
- Living expenses for the duration of the fellowship
- Return economy airfare
- Allowance package for research-related activities
Who Can Apply
- 1 Be a citizen of one of the eligible countries (Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Senegal, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, or Uzbekistan) and resident in one of these countries at the point of application
- 2 Hold a postgraduate level qualification or equivalent professional training or experience in a relevant area at the time of application
- 3 Have significant professional and/or academic research experience (at least five years)
