About This Scholarship

The DAAD STEM Master’s Scholarships 2026 support high-achieving students from developing and emerging countries to pursue full-time, on-campus Master’s degrees in STEM fields at state or state-recognised universities in Germany. The programme aims to improve the qualifications and employability of young academics and future professionals, with funding available only for tuition-free programmes starting in winter term 26/27.

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be a high-achieving student from a developing or emerging country
  • 2 Must have completed a first degree recognised in Germany (e.g. Bachelor's degree) by the application deadline
  • 3 Must not already hold a Master's degree by the application deadline
  • 4 Must apply for a STEM-focused Master's programme in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, or engineering
  • 5 Selected programme must be tuition-free
  • 6 Degree programme must start in winter term 26/27
  • 7 Study programmes with integrated stays outside Germany are excluded
  • 8 Interdisciplinary programmes must have a designated STEM focus
