About This Scholarship
The European University Institute offers one-year Jean Monnet Fellowships for post-doctoral scholars and academics who obtained their doctorate more than five years prior to the fellowship start date of 1 September 2027. Fellows receive a monthly grant of €2,850, travel reimbursement, and must reside in Florence to actively participate in the academic community and contribute research outputs.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Monthly grant of €2,850 (or minimum €2,100 if receiving other income)
- Household allowance up to €310/month for partners earning less than €2,000/month
- Incoming and outgoing travel reimbursement up to €1,200 total (first-class rail or economy air fare)
- Residential accommodation in Florence area
- Access to EUI postdoctoral programme activities
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must have obtained a doctorate more than 5 years prior to 1 September 2027 (PhD awarded before 1 September 2022 for 2027-28 cohort)
- 2 Candidates of all nationalities are eligible
- 3 Must be available to reside in Florence for the duration of the fellowship
- 4 Research proposal must align with one of the Robert Schuman Centre's main research themes, programmes and projects
