About This Scholarship
The GIST Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity for international students to pursue MS, PhD, and integrated MS/PhD degrees at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, one of Korea’s top public universities. The scholarship covers tuition fees, monthly stipends, accommodation, health insurance, and one-way airfare, with instruction conducted entirely in English.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Full tuition coverage (3,607,000 won per semester)
- Monthly stipend for MS students (140,000 won per month)
- Monthly stipend for PhD students (295,000 won per month)
- Meal allowance (approximately 100,000 won per month)
- International student allowance (120,000 won per month)
- Dormitory accommodation (80,000-140,000 won per month depending on room type)
- Health insurance (60% of National Health Insurance covered)
- One-way flight reimbursement to Korea
- Research assistantship opportunities (average 6,400,000 won per year for MS, 13,740,000 won per year for PhD)
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must hold a final bachelor's degree equivalent to a Korean bachelor's degree
- 2 Must be an international student from any country
- 3 Must be proficient in English
- 4 Must have an excellent academic record demonstrating academic excellence
